Postdoctoral Researcher


Founded in October 1951, East China Normal University (ECNU) is one of China's key research universities under the direct auspices of the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the prestigious national program Project 211, Project 985 and “Double-first-class”.  Currently it has almost 30000 students, in which half of them are postgraduate students, and more than 4000 faculty and staff members. It is located in Shanghai with two campuses in Putuo and Minhang Districts respectively totaling an area of 220 hectares.

 

School of Statistics, formerly Department of Statistics starting from 1984, was one of the first three mathematical statistics departments established in China. It runs one of the top statistics programs in China (Class A according to 2017 China Discipline Ranking) and currently has 40 faculty members including three national distinguished professors. It offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics and actuarial science.

I. Requirement

1. Candidates who have obtained a doctoral degree in statistics or related majors in a high-level university or research institution in China or overseas.

2. Candidates with strong scientific research capability, and having published at least one high-level paper as first author or corresponding author in relevant fields.

3. Candidates with good oral and written skills in both Chinese and English.

4. Candidates under the age of 35.

 

II. Salary and Compensation

 

1. A salary of RMB300,000/year (before tax) is provided, together with social security and appropriate provident fund in pursuance of national regulations.

2. Travel expenses will be reimbursed for academic visits, exchanges and cooperation as well as joint postdoctoral training.

3. Postdocs can rent the postdoctoral apartments provided by the university and enjoy relevant policies for postdocs prescribed by the university (such as residence permit and children's education, etc.).

4. The postdoc period is generally 2 years, with the maximum period being 21 months.
