Statistics

The academic team of the statistics discipline is led by a professor from the national Thousand Talents Plan. The team boasts an excellent academic level and age structure. It includes international-level scholars in the fields of mathematical statistics, financial statistics, applied statistics, Bayesian statistics, Big Data statistical analysis and actuarial insurance. Several textbooks written by the teachers of this discipline have been widely used by many Chinese and international universities, and have been received favorably. This discipline boasts a fairly good platform for international exchanges. So far, more than 300 students have been sent to prestigious overseas universities as part of student exchange programs and for further study. A joint dual-degree doctoral program in actuarial science has also been established with Macquarie University in Australia. The program has an excellent academic structure and an integrated scientific talent training system. The program aims to develop a solid theoretical foundation on probability theory and mathematical statistics, create good awareness and capability in scientific research and innovation, and good professional capabilities in exceptional talents.

Software Engineering

This major has now established an internationally leading discipline framework as well as a comprehensive discipline system that combines basic and applied research and integrates multiple disciplines in software science and technology, data science and engineering, embedded software and systems, cryptography, network security, etc. It effectively trains professionals in research in the fields of software engineering theory, technology, application and other disciplines, helps them develop into pragmatic, innovative and diligent scholars who are capable of serving national basic strategic research, and develops their independent research and innovation capabilities. It aims to imbue them with potential for professional sustainable development, making them capable enough to participate in international academic competitions. It is conducted by a first-class Chinese and internationally influential academic and applied research team in software engineering.

Educational Technology

Educational technology is the earliest interdisciplinary subject in arts and sciences in China that studies application of information technology in education. It has reached the leading level in discipline development in China, and has simultaneously established a brand featuring application of computer education. This major attaches importance to cultivating the ability to broaden international vision, discover problems and engage in independent scientific research. The team of international instructors, provides doctoral students with comprehensive internationally advanced academic research and training, helping them systematically learn about development frontiers of the discipline and to launch scientific research with theoretical and practical significance in the discipline.
